In 1990, the Illinois General Assembly passed the Riverboat Gambling Act, allowing for the operation of 10 riverboat casinos in Illinois. The Illinois Casino Gaming Association (ICGA) represents the 7 of the 9 casinos currently operating in Illinois. The association coordinates industry initiatives, including advocacy and education on such issues as economic development, community service and responsible gaming.
